›Gefrorene Räume‹,
2006
Photographs
The starting point for the series ‘Frozen Spaces’ is abandoned houses and ‘preserved’ rooms, which have been kept in a certain state
and are no longer being used. Spaces, which have been quasi ‘frozen’, for example after a person has died, and which may even have not
been entered for some time. The now ‘ownerless’, paralyzed objects and pieces of furniture give silent testimony to the former presence
of humankind. Through the camera, I withdrew a piece of these spaces, in which time has already come to a standstill. I removed a moment
that never ceased to be a moment in time.
